Department of Computer Science and Engineering Patiala

Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Patiala was formed in 2003, following discussions between the University’s top professors, technical specialists, and the Vice-Chancellor on the need for engineering and technology education in the state of Punjab. It was previously known as the University College of Engineering (UCoE), Punjab, India.

The university has developed a master plan that will be implemented in three phases to provide technical education in fundamental and specialised subjects. In the initial phase, three branches leading to a B.Tech degree were available. The second phase will feature the introduction of three new disciplines, namely Micro-electronics, Power Engineering, and Bio-informatics, while the third phase will include additional growth, a greater emphasis on research, and the formation of a research and development centre with the participation of industry.
