As of 2025, the MHT CETi Counselling process has approximately 500 plus engineering colleges and the total number of B.Tech seats available through MHT CET counselling is approximately 1,24,638. The entire counselling process is conducted online and it consists of registration, payment of counselling fees, document submission, choice filling, seat allotment, and document verification. Supernumerary seats are available for OCI/PIO/Foreign Students and children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries, limited to a maximum of 15% of the total intake. Out of these, one-third of the seats are reserved for children of Indian workers in Gulf countries, and two-thirds for OCI/PIO/Foreign students. Vacant seats in one category may be filled by candidates from the other, and remaining seats can be allotted to NRI candidates with prior approval. These seats are filled by the respective institutions based on inter-se merit. Supernumerary seats are also allotted for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Migrant candidates, filled by the Competent Authority as per government policy.

MHT CET Counselling Choice Filling 2025
In the MHT CET 2025 counselling, choice filling is a mandatory step before each CAP (Centralised Admission Process) round. Candidates must log in and fill an online option form, listing 1 to 300 course and college choices in order of preference. The first block represents the top preference.

MHT CET Counselling for Other State Students

MHT CET Counselling Fee Refund Policy
The refund procedure will be initiated by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra for the candidates who cancel their admission, after getting a seat through CAP. The cancellation shall be initiated by making an online application first. Once the request for cancellation is made online, admission stands cancelled. The candidate shall also submit a duly signed copy of the system-generated application for cancellation to the institute where he is admitted. Even if a signed copy is not submitted, the online request will be treated as final.
If the candidate cancels admission before 5:00 PM on the cut-off date as declared by the Competent Authority, he shall be entitled to a complete refund of the fees paid except for Rs. 1,000 which shall be considered processing charges. The institute should refund the amount and return all original documents within two days after receiving the signed cancellation application.
If the cancellation occurs after the 5:00 PM deadline on the cut-off date, the candidate will not be eligible for a fee refund, with the exception of the security deposit and caution money (if applicable). Additionally, after the cut-off date, the link for online cancellation will be deactivated, and any such request must be submitted directly to the institute in writing.
