University College of Engineering Science & Technology Hyderabad originally established as Nagarjuna Sagar Engineering College in 1965 by the Government of Telangana, underwent a transformative journey in its early years. Initially under the administrative purview of the Department of Technical Education, the college held affiliation with Osmania University, Hyderabad. A significant turning point occurred on October 2, 1972, with the establishment of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), leading to the college’s integration as a constituent of the university. This transition was marked by a renaming, and the institution became known as JNTU College of Engineering, Hyderabad.
During its formative years from 1965 to 1984, the college found its home at the Masab Tank Campus. However, in 1984, a pivotal move took place as the college was relocated to its permanent and expansive site in Kukatpally, covering 100 acres and situated approximately 20 km from the city center, along the Bombay National Highway (NH-9). This strategic shift provided the institution with a more spacious and modern infrastructure, setting the stage for continued growth and development in the field of engineering, science, and technology.
