The application form has been released by the authority and the counselling is likely to be started from the month of September. The admission in B. Tech courses will be done on the basis of JEE Mains score of 2022. What is HSTES Counselling 2022: The Haryana State Technical Education Society conducts the process for the admission of the students in B Tech courses in various Haryana engineering institutes based on their JEE Main 2022 scores. A merit list is prepared by the counselling authority and the candidates are selected on the basis of the choices they had in made related to the college and course. The seats are allotted by HSTES through a centralised process. Candidates are advised to go through the eligibility criteria before filling up the counselling form as there is a variation in the eligibility criteria for the different types of candidates in the society i.e. Candidates applying under regular category, Candidates applying under Haryana Government School Toppers (HGST) category, Candidates applying under Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) scheme,
Candidates applying under Kashmiri Migrants (KM) category. Candidates must go through the eligibility criteria in order to know that under which category they belongs to.

Eligibility Criteria for Kashmiri Migrants (KM)
- This scheme secured 5% of seats in each course for the Kashmiri Migrants. The seats will be supernumerary and filled on the basis of inter – se- merit of qualifying exams.
- The percentage of the marks will be considered for Physics, English, Maths and one of the given subjects i.e. Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Biology/Technical Vocational.
- The candidates under this scheme must present their original migration certificate which should be duly attested by the authority or relief commissioner.
HSTES Eligibility Criteria for Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW):
- This scheme secured 5% of seats in each course for the Kashmiri Migrants. The seats will be supernumerary and filled on the basis of inter – se- merit of qualifying exams.
- Only those candidates are eligible whose parents annual income is less than 8 Lac per annum.
- Candidates must produce relevant documents for the income proof from the competent authority.
HSTES Eligibility Criteria for Haryana Government School Toppers (HGST)
- Admissions under this scheme is provided to the toppers on the basis of inter – se – merit of class 10+ 2. The seats are supernumerary in nature.
- Candidates must have scored 50% marks in the aggregate
- The candidates must produce relevant documents to support their claim, the document of Haryana government school topper must be attested by the Principal/ Headmaster of the government school.
HSTES Counselling Process 2022
Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) conducts the counselling process for the candidates who had cleared their JEE Mains entrance exam. There is a Application fee of Rs. 500 for general and 200 for reserved category (HGST, TFW, EWS, KM) that is to be paid by the candidates willing to participate in the counselling process. The counselling process has certain steps that are to be followed at the time of going through the counselling session which includes registering on the official website, uploading the necessary document, paying the counselling fee.
HSTES Counselling registration:
Registration is one of the first and necessary step for starting the counselling process herein there are few steps that needed to be taken into consideration and follow it sincerely as by passing the registration step would make the candidate ineligible for the counselling process. The candidates need to fill in the application form with the JEE Mains 2022 application number and their Date of birth. The candidates have to fill in the academic details personal details as well as contact details.
Payment of counselling Fee
After registration the candidate have to pay the counselling fee of Rs. 500 for general and Rs. 200 for reserved category via online mode. The candidates have to pay the counselling fee in order to be eligible for the counselling rounds. The counselling fee is non refundable. The candidates are advised to take the print out of the confirmation page for future reference.
HSTES Merit List:
The merit list is most likely to be released after a month of the examination which is prepared by HSTES. The merit list is on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidate in JEE Main exam. The candidates whose name are there in the merit list are eligible for filling in their choices and lock their choices within the timeline given by the authorities.
Choice filling and Locking
After the issue of merit list the selected candidates can start filling the choices. In filling the choices candidates are advised to choose the maximum number of choices so that the probability of getting an admission would be higher. There must be an order of preferences made by the candidate. The choice filling option is for a stipulated period of time after than no editing is allowed on the choice filling counterpart. The candidate must lock their choices within the given time framework.
Seat Allotment:
There are many factors that are counted at the time of allotment of seat, the factors are merit of the candidate, availability of seats, preference selected by the candidate. There are 2 rounds of counselling through which a candidate will be allotted seats. The candidates who have been allotted seats have to download the seat allotment letter for the admission in the institute.
HSTES 2022 Admission Process
Candidates seeking admission in Engineering institutes have to give JEE Mains on the basis of which the cut off of different colleges are made. The name of the candidates who clear the cut off marks prescribed by HSTES will be included in the merit list. Only those candidates whose names are there in the merit list are eligible for the admission process.
Preparation of Merit list by HSTES:
As per the scores in the entrance test and the marks obtained by the candidates in their class 12th PCM group exams are considered and the merit list is prepared on the basis of it. With the aggregation of marks obtained the candidates are allotted the ranks on the basis of which they can have the idea of his or her position in the merit list. The candidates can make the choices of the colleges and courses as when mentioned by the authority in the B. Tech courses. The candidates can go through the previous year cut off in order to analyse their position of getting the desired college with desired course. The whole system is online and the candidates will get a chance to take part in the counselling process as per the merit list and the options made by the candidates in terms of colleges and streams opted by them.
