Uttar Pradesh B. Tech Counselling Registration Process 2025
- Registration & Document Upload: Candidates are required to register and upload documents online. This is only a requirement in the first round and the special round.
- Payment of Registration Fee: Candidates shall pay the counseling registration fee via the portal made available to them.
- Document Verification: The documents uploaded would be subjected to verification by the document verification committee.
- Verification Confirmation: A confirmation regarding the verification of documents would be effectuated through SMS/email.
- Choice Filling: Candidates who have been verified can fill in the choices regarding courses and institutions.
- Seat Allotment Results: The seat allotment results will be published after every round.
- Seat Acceptance & Fee Payment: Seat acceptance fee is required to be paid by the candidates in order to retain the allocated seat.
- Modes of Seat Acceptance: 1, 2 or 3 rounds: Freeze/Float options. 4th round: Auto-Freeze (compulsory for acceptance).
- Physical Reporting at Institutes: After 4th round, all candidates who have been Allotted Seats that constrains Freeze or Auto Freeze would be required to Persons Institutions .
- Seat Withdrawal Facility: Only Rounds 2 and 3 have the option of withdrawing a seat.
- Download Provisional Allotment Letter: Only those Candidates who are Allotted a Seat are eligible to download Provisional Allotment Letter. In case the mentioned seat is confirmed then it will be seen as a provisional admission letter.
- Internal Sliding (Willingness for Sliding): For internal sliding within the same institute (in Round 5), candidates must provide their consent online.
- Special Round Registration: A separate registration is required for vacant seats in the Special Round (Round 6).
- Seat Allotment for Special Round: Seats will be allotted based on merit in the Special Round.
- Physical Reporting for Special Round: Candidates allotted seats in the Special Round must report physically to the respective institutes.

- Step 11: Internal Sliding: Internal sliding is applicable for government/government-aided institutions affiliated with AKTU, allowing candidates to slide to their preferred choices within the institution.

Candidates must complete the choice filling process after successfully registering and verifying their documents. This is a important step because it decides the college and course they will be assigned throughout the seat allotment process. Filling out as many options as possible increases your chances of earning a seat. Choices can be changed and altered as many times as necessary prior to the locking deadline. If a candidate fails to manually lock their options, the system will lock the last saved options after the deadline. Once locked, no more changes are permitted. The allotment of seats is strictly based on JEE Main rank, reservation criteria, and the choices filled during this step.

The seat allocation in Uttar Pradesh B.Tech Counselling is conducted through a multi-round process designed to ensure transparency and provide students multiple opportunities to secure a seat in their preferred college and course. This round introduces a seat conversion rule, allowing unfilled seats in categories like ST to be converted to SC, and so on, to maximize seat utilization. Once seats are allotted, confirmation requires the same fee payment as earlier rounds, followed by refund processing for candidates exiting the counselling process after this round. Candidates who have confirmed their seats and submitted required details are not allowed to participate further.
Round 4 is mostly for seat upgrades and filling the remaining vacant seats. Candidates who confirmed their seats in previous rounds may receive an improved seat based on their choices. New allotments are made solely to those who re-register for Round 4, with no new changes permitted for existing candidates. Seats left vacant in Round 3 are offered in the open category for this round. If an upgraded seat is available, it replaces the previous allotted seat.
Subsequent rounds include an internal sliding round and two special rounds that follow similar ideas, such as merit-based allocation, category-based seat conversions, and rigorous deadlines.
