Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main) is a National level entrance exam conducted by National Testing Agency for admission in various undergraduate programs like B.E/ B.Tech, B.Arch, and B. Plan offered by NITS, IITs, CFITs, and GFIT. JEE Main is conducted in all states of India.
JEE (Main), the joint entrance examination, consists of two papers. Admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E./B.Tech.) is determined by Paper 1 at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by state governments that are taking part. JEE (Main) serves as a prerequisite for JEE (Advanced), a test for admission to IITs. For entry into the nation’s B. Arch and B. Planning programs, Paper 2 is administered.

The JEE (Main) – 2024 will be conducted in 02 (two) sessions for admissions in the next academic session. The candidates will thus benefit in the following ways:
- This will give two opportunities to the candidates to improve their scores in the examination if they are not able to give their best in one attempt.
- On the first attempt, the students will get a first-hand experience of taking an examination and will know their mistakes which they can improve while attempting for the second time.
- This will reduce the chances of dropping a year and droppers would not have to waste an entire year. If anyone missed the examination due to reasons beyond control (such as the Board examination), then he/she will not have to wait for one entire year.
- A candidate need not appear in both Sessions. However, if a candidate appears in more than one Session then his/her best of the JEE (Main) – 2024 NTA Scores will be considered for preparation of the Merit List/ Ranking

JEE Main Cut off 2023
Along with the publication of session 2 results, the NTA will announce the JEE Main 2024 cutoff. The JEE Main cutoff is the minimum percentile score that students must get in order to be eligible to take the JEE Advanced. The cutoff for JEE Main will fluctuate depending on the category.
Candidates should be aware that there are no minimum marks or cutoffs required to pass the JEE Main test. The All India Rank is determined by the score that students receive in JEE Main, and admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs is solely based on the All India Rank. Although NTA JEE Main serves as a screening test for JEE Advanced, NTA publishes the qualifying cutoff for appearing in JEE Advanced alongside the result.
